Haydale to raise around 5 million GBP in a new public share offering
UK-based graphene developer Haydale announced that it is set to raise around £5.00 million in a new public offering, and will also offer existing shareholders to subscribe to more shares to raises approximately £0.51 million. The new offering is done at a share price of 2 pence (well below Haydale's share price a few days ago).
The new funds will be used for general working capital needs of the business.
Haydale and Vittoria to collaborate on graphene innovation and supply
Haydale has announced that it has started collaborating on the innovation and the supply of graphene with Vittoria and has received its first order for one tonne of functionalized graphene nanomaterial.
Vittoria is a leading manufacturer of performance bicycle tires and has since 2015 pioneered the application of graphene in the rubber of bicycle tires. The functionalized nanomaterial has been proven to create substantial improvements in grip, rolling resistance, puncture resistance and durability.
Haydale secures Innovate UK grant to develop smart composite tooling
Haydale has announced that it has been awarded funding of £186,403 by Innovate UK, the UK's innovation agency, to develop smart composite tooling for the aerospace industry using functionalized nanomaterials.
The ESENSE project (Out-of-autoclave self-heated tooling enabling temperature homogeneity and embedded graphene sensors) aims to enhance out-of-autoclave (OOA) manufacturing processes with monitoring and through-life sensing capabilities using Haydale's patented HDPlas functionalization process to develop high temperature inks and pressure sensors. The project is due to start in April 2022 and is expected to run for 24 months.
Haydale announces project with Viritech to develop graphene-enhanced epoxy resins for hydrogen storage vessels
Building on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with Viritech in September 2021, Haydale, has announced the next phase with the cleantech engineering company to develop nano-enhanced epoxy resins for hydrogen storage vessels.
The £97,750 Storage of Hydrogen and Nanomaterial Enhancement ('SHYNE') project will run for an initial period of seven months, starting in March.
Haydale to lead project for high barrier monolayer films for food packaging
Haydale has announced that it has been awarded funding of £168,573 (around USD$226,250) to develop high barrier monolayer films for food packaging by Innovate UK, the UK's innovation agency.
Haydale Composite Solutions Ltd ('HCS'), will lead the consortium of nine companies - BASF, Bangor University, Cambridge Nanomaterials Technologies, Dunbia, Fre-Energy, Parkside Flexibles, Recycling Technologies, and Wells Plastics - to develop the next generation of high barrier films for food packaging using functionalized nanomaterials ("HiBarFilm2 Project"). The HiBarFilm2 Project is due to start in March 2022 and is expected to run for 30 months. It follows the success of the HiBarFilm feasibility study where functionalized nanomaterials were shown to influence barrier performance in films.
Haydale reports its unaudited interim H1 FY2022 results
UK-based graphene developer Haydale announced its unaudited interim H1 FY2022 results (the six months that ended on 31 December 2021). The company's revenues were £1.19 million (down from £1.28 million in H1 FY2021) and a loss of £1.75 million (up from £1.08 million last year).
Haydale says that it progressing on many of its functionalisation based nano projects, and its planned delivery of the new HT1400 reactor will git it additional capacity and allow for cost-effective material processing on a large scale. Haydale is also pleased to see the early signs of recovery in the aerospace market and wider cutting tools market.
Haydale to collaborate with Cadent Gas and EIC on graphene ink-based heaters
Haydale has announced it will be collaborating with Cadent Gas and the Energy Innovation Centre to develop graphene ink-based heaters for low-power hot water. The £135,000 three-stage project will run for an initial 15 months.
The graphene solution has the potential to offer a low-power way to heat water when there is an interruption to the gas supply. Currently, the provision of fan heaters and hot plates to vulnerable customers without a gas supply can be expensive and challenging, particularly for elderly or disabled customers.
Haydale secures SMARTCymru funding for anti-counterfeiting technology
Haydale has announced that it has been awarded a SMARTCymru grant from The Welsh Government that will enable the Company to progress with the development of its anti-counterfeiting ink technology, PATit.
The Project has a total cost of £169,000 and is expected to take six months to complete. The SMARTCymru grant, which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, will cover about 50% of the anticipated project costs.
Haydale's GNPs to improve textiles used by iCraft and Pro-Spec
Haydale has announced that, following the successful incorporation of graphene nano-platelets (GNPs) in its cosmetic face mask sheets and PPE face masks, iCraft is using Haydale’s functionalized GNPs in its graphene-coated fabric, THERMiT.
In order to grant increased performance in terms of thermal and antibacterial properties, Haydale’s plasma functionalized GNPs have been used to coat the nylon fibers in the lining of a down jacket. The graphene coated fabric, THERMiT, was supplied to South Korean sports apparel brand, Pro-Specs, for use in a new graphene-enhanced jacket. The initial production run of 8,000 items, which was available in store and online, sold out within weeks of being released.
Haydale reports its FY2021 results, will increase capacity significantly with a new reactor
UK-based graphene developer Haydale announced its financial results for its 2021 financial year. Yearly revenues reached £2.9 million (down 2% from FY2020), while net loss was reduced by 15% to £3.41 million. Cash outflow was reduced by 52% to £1.58 million.
Haydale is still cautious regarding its short-term revenue, but it is optimistic regarding the long-term potential, and Haydale reports that it ordered a larger HT1400 plasma reactor, which will significantly increase the company's capacity to allow production to move to an industrial level in 2022.
