The position holder will work within an EPSRC-funded, cross-disciplinary team to develop next-generation, power / energy-dense super-capacitor and battery storage devices using graphene-based materials. Using the center's state-of-the-art fabrication, analysis and life-cycle test systems, the position holder will drive forward a new strand of research to evaluate the electrical performance and degradation / life-cycle of large-scale graphene-based super-capacitors and batteries.
Applicants will hold, or be about to obtain, a PhD in electrical engineering or electro-chemistry (or have equivalent relevant experience). They must have practical experience of using electrical systems, with experience in the modelling, fabrication and testing of super-capacitors and/or batteries being a distinct advantage. Applicants should be able to interact effectively with researchers from other disciplines and industrial partners. The post is available for 10 months.
