Postdoctoral position (Senior Research Associate) is available at Lancaster to work on the theory of atomic two-dimensional crystals, including graphene, hexagonal transition metal dichalconenides, and their hybrid structures. This research, funded by the ERC Advance grant 'Graphene and Beyond', will be carried out under the supervision of Professors Vladimir Falko in Condensed Matter Theory group at Lancaster, and it will involve collaboration with experimental groups at the National Graphene Institute in Manchester.
You should hold or be close to acquiring a PhD in quantum condensed matter theory, atomistic modelling of materials, or theoretical nanoscience, and demonstrate research experience in at least one of the following areas: graphene theory, theory of semiconductors, mesoscopic physics, or ab initio modeling of materials.
The post is available now for, initially, 2 years, with a performance-related possibility to extend for 3 more years.
Salary: £31,020 - £35,938
Closing Date: 26 November 2012
