Versarien enters agreement with Vivobarefoot to develop graphene-enhanced shoe technology

Advanced materials group Versarien has signed an agreement with shoemaker Vivobarefoot to collaborate on developing graphene-enhanced footwear.

Vivobarefoot is a leading maker of minimalist shoes, majority owned by Galahad and Asher Clark, with Taiwanese shoe manufacturer Stella International owning a minority stake, Versarien said.

Several other initiatives have recently started in the graphene-enhanced footwear field, like Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia's collaboration with FADEL to develop graphene-enhanced shoes and Chinese footwear producers that are focusing on graphene-enhanced shoes that are lightweight, self-sterilizing and deodorizing.
