First Graphene signs collaboration agreement for graphene-enhanced HDPE products

First Graphene has entered into a collaboration agreement with Malaysia-based DSP, a specialist manufacturer of high density polyethylene (HDPE) sheet extrusions.

The collaboration will focus on the development of PureGRAPH-enhanced HDPE sheet and welding wire, providing an increase in durability and abrasion resistance.

HDPE can be used as an alternative fabrication material in a number of applications and provides benefits such as high impact resistance, corrosion resistance, antifouling properties and reduced carbon footprint.

The initial collaboration agreement is for one year and could be extended further at the end of the term.

Following evaluation, the PureGraph HDPE sheet will be launched as a new product line that will be marketed by both DSP and FGR.

First Graphene already has a number of clients and prospects eager to trial the new PureGRAPH enhanced HDPE materials including in defence and non-defence marine craft fabrication and mining wear liners, Managing Director and CEO Michael Bell said. This is yet another example of First Graphene and its partners identifying known problems impacting large-scale industries and developing solutions to address them.
