2021 has been a challenging year, globally, with the pandemic still not behind us, and a dramatic component shortage effecting many markets. The graphene industry, however, had an excellent year, with new products on the market and increased material production and adoption.
Here are 2021's top ten graphene applications, ranked by the references at Graphene-Info:
- Batteries
- Medicine
- Sensors
- Automotive applications
- Composites
- Supercapacitors
- Coating
- Textiles
- Electronics
- Construction materials
It is not much of a surprise to find graphene batteries at the top of the list, batteries are getting more and more important, especially as electric cars are finally being adopted in a massive scale. The next two positions are taken by applications that are enjoying the focus created by the COVID-10 pandemic - Medicine and Sensors.
It is somewhat a surprise to see Construction materials at the last spot - in recent months this area gets a lot of focus, and it wouldn't surprise us to find construction materials in one of the top spots in next year's top-10 graphene application list.
