Graphenea expands its mGFET product line with an integrated reservoir for biosensing in liquid
Graphenea recently upgraded its mGFET line of products with a built-in reservoir for liquids. This enhancement increases ease of use for biosensing and implementation in clinical testing and rapid screening.
The mGFET product line is designed to minimize barriers to adoption of graphene as a biosensor. The product was launched at the same time as the Graphenea Card, a socket for housing the mGFET and interfacing with measurement electronics. The addition of the built-in reservoir lets the user focus on the biochemistry, without worrying about producing the graphene or the sensor, or about interfacing.
Realme's next flagship phone will use graphene-based cooling tech
Silca launches new bicycle chain lubricant, made with graphene by Versarien
Silca, producer of bicycle accessories, has launched a graphene-based chain lubricant, Hot Wax X. Silca claims it ‘runs roughly 0.5 watts faster’ than their original Secret Chain Blend hot-melt wax, and that it can extend the chain life to 30,000km. The new lubricant comes at quite a high price of £220 per 300g tin.
Silca previously made waves with its Secret Blend Hot Chain Wax, which gained the reputation of 'the fastest lubricant in the world'. Now, Silca found Nanene (by Versarien, which owns the Nanene brand), a commercial type of graphene, to further improve its product.
Xiaomi launches a new graphene baseboard heater
Xiaomi announced a new product, the Mijia Graphene Baseboard Heater (Fire Edition). The device uses two graphene-based heating elements, and has a simulated flame function that uses an integrated humidifier and LEDs to generate the flame appearance.
The Mijia Graphene Baseboard Heater is available now in China for pre-order for 1,299 yuan (around $180), and its retail price is expected to be 1,599 yuan (around $220).
FIOBOC launches graphene-enhanced activewear
FIOBOC, a casual fashion menswear brand, recently launched a graphene-enhanced activewear range. The collection includes sweatshirts and jackets in a range of naturally dyed colors. Using graphene in the fabric of FIOBOC's new collection allows it to keep warmth and comfort for wearers. The graphene fabric can reportedly insulate heat to reduce heat loss from the human body to ensure the wearer is kept warm.
FIOBOC stated that the "new collection is created with an athleisure style. While promoting comfort, the simple but stylish design makes it perfect for daily wear at work or home, working out at the gym, or going out motorcycling. Paired with a denim jacket or a snow jacket, it will be an ideal choice for camping or mountain climbing".
Huawei's new Pocket S clamshell smartphone uses graphene for heat disspiation
Huawei recently launched its Pocket S clamshell smartphone, that uses a graphene-based cooling system.
This continues Huawei's use of graphene heat dissipation technology, which started with the use of graphene films in the Huawei Mate 20X and continued with later versions, as well as the Huawei MatePad Pro 5G tablet.
MCR Safety launches graphene-enhanced work gloves
Personal protection equipment maker, MCR Safety, recently introduced CT1071, a new Cut Level ‘E’ safety glove made with graphene fibers. It offers a choice of different coatings designed for different tasks and working environments. CT1071 has a 15-gauge shell specifically designed to take advantage of the ultra-lightweight nature of the new fibers. It’s a Cut Level ‘E’ glove yet it’s reportedly 25% lighter than similar gloves offering the level of protection. It is also designed to be comfortable and easy to wear.
As this fiber isn’t blended with any glass or steel, the high-level cut protection is maintained throughout the life of the glove. No fiber breakage means high durability, high comfort and no irritation. The diaphanous Nitrile Micro-Foam coating enables enhanced grip, even in oily conditions.
LG launches graphene-enhanced earbuds
LG Electronics USA has announced its 2022 lineup of TONE Free true wireless earbuds, to be rolled out in the US starting September 2022.
The flagship model, TONE Free T90, is said to deliver impressive sound thanks to several upgrades, including the use of graphene to reduce vibration. The use of graphene helps reduce vibration, while Dolby Head Tracking support keeps the feel of music around the users, even when they move.
G6 Materials launches Breathe+ Pro Advanced Antimicrobial Graphene Air Filtration System
G6 Materials Corporation has announced the launch and immediate availability of the Breathe+ Pro Advanced Antimicrobial Graphene Air Filtration System.
The Breathe+ Pro Advanced Antimicrobial Graphene Air Filtration System removes microbes, dust particles, smog, dander, pollen as well as volatile organic compounds (VOC) from the air. Its antiviral and antibacterial efficacy was reportedly verified by independent tests by The Intertek Group. This patented Graphene Filter is said to remove 99.9% of the pathogenic microorganisms and is optimized for spaces up to 1,500 sq. ft., making it suitable for the home and office.
India-based Nordische Technologies and CIPET announce aluminium-graphene battery for gadgets and EV technology
India-based start-up, Nordische Technologies, claims to have launched an Aluminium-Graphene pouch cell battery for consumer electronics, gadgets and future EV technology in association with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Bengaluru.
The company said in a statement that the Aluminum-Graphene pouch cell battery is the world's fastest charging, non-toxic, non-flammable, and non-lithium non-cobalt battery with a long cycle life.
