First Graphene receives increased commitment from newGen Group

First Graphene (FGR) has announced that it has signed a Deed of Variation with newGen Group for the supply of its PureGRAPH product line for inclusion into the newGen ArmourGRAPH protective products for the mining industry.

newGen recently launched its ArmourGRAPH protective mining wear liners and elastomeric coatings, based on successful trials whereby a six-fold extension of wear protection was documented. Following successful trials, newGen has now moved to a production phase.

Graphene Manufacturing Group to raise $700,000 in a private placement

Australia-based Graphene Manufacturing Group (GMG) announced that it is set to raise $900,000 CDN (around $715,000 USD) in a private placement. The follows the company's $10 million CDN public offering announced earlier this month, and represents the significant orders for the company's shares in the earlier offering.

In June 2021 GMG published the latest updates on its coin cell graphene aluminum-ion battery. GMG went public in April 2021 and trades at the TSX Venture Exchange in Canada (ticker: GMG).

ESC and Evercloak to collaborate on project to build pilot-scale commercial production of graphene-based membranes

Environmental Systems Corporation (ESC) and Evercloak have announced a new CAD$4.6 million (around USD$3.64 million) collaborative project to build up to pilot-scale commercial production of graphene-based membranes. The project will be funded by Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen) from the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada.

"This is a very exciting time for us. This collaboration represents a crucial building block towards net-zero by the year 2030 by reducing energy processes for cleanrooms. We are very excited to work with Evercloak and NGen on this initiative," said Vern Solomon, Founder/ Innovator of ESC.

Graphene Manufacturing Group to raise $8 million in a public offering

Australia-based Graphene Manufacturing Group (GMG) announced that it is undertaking an overnight marketed public offering of units of the Company, for gross proceeds of up to CDN$10 million ($8 million USD).

GMG says that the proceeds will be used to develop a commercial coin cell graphene aluminum-ion battery prototype, front end design and commence building of a battery manufacturing facility (subject to a successful prototype and a final investment decision) and for working capital and general corporate purposes.

Taiwan's Fubon leads $64 million investment round in Nanotech Energy

Fubon Financial Holding, a Taiwan-based financial services business led by the Tsai family, has led a $64 million investment round in U.S. battery maker Nanotech Energy.

The U.S-based graphene materials supplier and graphene-enhanced batteries developer, Nanotech Energy, will use the new Series D funding to build a graphene battery manufacturing facility in Reno, Nevada and open an European headquarters in Amsterdam. The Reno facility is reportedly due to open in the second half of 2022. Nanotech Energy also plans to increase capacity in its current Chico, California factory for graphene itself, graphene-based conductive inks, adhesives, shielding and silver nanowires.

Directa Plus' Setcar unit awarded €1.15 million EU grant

Directa Plus has announced that its subsidiary, Setcar, has been awarded a €1.15 million grant under the EU's Regional Operational Program that supports small and medium-sized enterprises.

The grant will fund the purchase of additional equipment to be used in decontaminating oil and other substance tanks and to provide services for the clean-up of soils contaminated with petroleum products/pollutants.

Applied Graphene Materials wins funding to expand inhouse capabilities

Applied Graphene Materials (AGM) has announced the implementation of a key component of its technology roadmap, following a successful grant application supported by the Tees Valley Business Growth Fund (TVBGF), which supports SMEs in the Tees Valley to grow their business, improve productivity and stimulate local growth.

AGM has installed a new paint and coatings spray booth facility, using the funding secured, to facilitate accelerated internal research and customer developments, offer additional specialist training opportunities for staff, and enable AGM to complete projects more efficiently and with a broader scope.

Directa Plus secures government loan to accelerate business

Directa Plus recently announced that it has qualified for a total of €0.7 million in loans under the Italian government's Covid-19 recovery plan. The Company said it took advantage of the low-cost liquidity offered by the Italian Government, to accelerate its strategic program.

It said the funds were being provided in two tranches by Intesa Sanpaolo, being a €0.5 million loan and a €0.2 million leasing loan to fund the acquisition of new machinery for the company's production facility.

Vaulta secures Federal government grant

Australia-based battery case developer Vaulta has been awarded a Federal Government grant to commercialize its battery casings for the electric vehicle market.

Vaulta received a grant of AUD$297,500 (around USD$219,000) from the Federal Government’s Accelerating Commercialization grants program to commercialize its low-cost and light-weight graphene-enhanced battery modules.

NanoXplore shares graduate to the Toronto Stock Exchange

Graphene producer NanoXplore announced that the Corporation's common shares are starting to trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). The shares will delist from the TSX Venture Exchange. The ticker symbol will remain GRA. This stock graduation will hopefully mean further exposure and and enhanced profile for NanoXplore.

NanoXplore recently announced announced a joint venture with its partner Martinrea International called VoltaXplore Inc., formed to develop electric vehicle (EV) batteries enhanced with graphene. Last month NanoXplore announced that it has entered into a multiyear agreement to supply GrapheneBlack grade of products to Techmer PM, a large U.S-based plastic compounder specializing in modifying and fine-tuning the properties of technical polymers.
