Sunrise Energy Metals to take full ownership of graphene oxide membrane development joint venture company, NematiQ
In 2018, Sunrise Energy Metals (SRL) and Ionic Industries partnered up and established a JV called NematiQ to develop graphene oxide (GO) membranes for water treatment applications. SRL initially had a 75% stake in the joint venture, before increasing its interest to 83.2% in 2020. Now, SRL announced its plan to take full ownership of NematiQ.
NematiQ has developed a process for manufacturing GO, which can be applied to a membrane support to create a graphene oxide-based nanofiltration membrane (GO-Membrane). The GO-Membrane manufacturing process has reportedly already been demonstrated on commercial-scale industrial equipment.
G6 Materials reported its financial results for Q1 2021
G6 Materials (Formerly called Graphene 3D Lab) announced its financial results for Q1 2021, with revenues of $263,425 CAD and a net loss of $321,152.
Looking back at the last nine-month period (ended February 28, 2021), G6's revenues were $1.94 million CAD, up 276% from $515,930 in the prior year. The increase in revenues was attributed to consulting services provided to third-party clients, the ongoing sale of the Company’s air purification products and the receipt of a one-time payment as per the terms of a license and option agreement.
Anaphite raises £1.2 million to push forward graphene-enhanced li-ion batteries development
Anaphite, a UK-based company that was founded to explore ways to incorporate graphene into Li-ion batteries to improve battery life and charging times, has raised about £1.2 million (over USD$1,665,000) from investors in a new funding round.
The funding round was led by Zero Carbon Capital, which is investing £300,000. Zero Carbon Capital backs UK-based hard-science start-ups on a mission to address the toughest problems of climate change.
HexagonFab raises £1.9 million to accelerate development of its graphene-based 'Bolt’ system for protein characterization
UK-based developer of graphene-based biological sensors, HexagonFab, recently raised £1.9 million to accelerate development of its novel technology for process monitoring in the biopharmaceutical industry.
The company has developed a portable and affordable instrument HexagonFab Bolt which can very rapidly generate biopharma data.
Graphene Manufacturing Group is now a public company trading in the TSX Venture Exchange
Australia-based Graphene Manufacturing Group (GMG) is now a public company, and the company's shares are trading on the Canadian TSX Venture Exchange with the ticker GMG following the company's merger with Cuspis Capital Ltd.
The current market cap of the company is around $50 million USD. GMG produces graphene using a proprietary production process. The company focuses on solutions for the energy storage and energy saving markets.
Graphene cathode materials startup volexion secures funding to scale-up its technology
Battery materials startup Volexion has secured $1.1 million in funding as it moves toward commercialization of its graphene coating for lithium-ion cathodes. The U.S-based company aims to increase its output to several kilogram batch capacity after the funding as it works towards its goal of being commercially ready by 2024.
The closing of the first tranche of its $2.2 million seed financing was led by leading climate tech venture capital firms Clean Energy Ventures and Energy Foundry.
G6 Materials announces successful closing of CAD$5.4 Million non-brokered equity financing
G6 Materials has announced that it has closed its non-brokered equity financing previously announced on March 2021. The Company reported that unit offering increased due to "strong investor demand" - from the CAD$5 million initial target, to the final closing of CAD$5.4 Million (around USD$4.29 million).
The closing of this Offering is a significant milestone for G6 Materials as it not only funds our Company for future growth, but it also empowers us to complete the previously announced acquisition of GX Technologies, said Daniel Stolyarov, President & CEO of G6 Materials Corp.
Zen Graphene Solutions completes private placement for gross proceeds of almost USD$3.5 Million
ZEN Graphene Solutions has announced that it completed its previously announced non-brokered private placement for aggregate gross proceeds of CAD$4,337,998 (around USD$3.46 million).
ZEN intends to use the net proceeds to fund capital expenditures and operating expenses at Guelph locations supporting the scale-up and production of its antimicrobial coating to serve existing client orders and create capacity for subsequent clients. ZEN also intends to continue to invest in its intellectual property related to graphene. Funds will also be used for general corporate purposes.
Versarien enters agreement to promote interests in South Korea, secures £1.93 million strategic investment
Versarien recently announced that it has entered into a wide-ranging series of agreements with Graphene Lab, a South Korean company specializing in chemical vapor deposition (CVD) graphene, including sensors, OLEDs, and flexible transparent touch panels, with the intention of advancing both Versarien's and Graphene Lab's proposed activities in South Korea.
This follows Versarien's acquisition of certain graphene production related assets and intellectual property from South Korea based Hanwha Aerospace, as announced on 22 December 2020.
