Graphene products: introduction and market status - Page 9
Applied Graphene Materials’ GNPs incorporated into two newly-launched automotive products
Applied Graphene Materials (AGM) has announced that its customer, Constellation Chemicals, has launched two new sealants in its car detailing product range enhanced with AGM’s graphene nanoplatelet technology.
The two products, Parallax, a graphene-enhanced ceramic sealant and Gravity, a graphene-enhanced snow sealant, launch after research and testing by Constellation Chemicals. The growing UK-based manufacturer of car care products claims that they offer performance enhancements such as hydrophobicity, chemical resistance to acid rain, road salt and bird lye and produce excellent durability, gloss, water repellence and beading.
First Graphene reports positive results from PureGRAPH wear line testing, enters MOU with Brazil's Gerdau
First Graphene has reported results from field testing of the PureGRAPH-enhanced bucket wear liner, which have reportedly shown an almost six times reduction in average abrasion loss compared with a standard polyurethane liner. The bucket wear liners were installed at a major iron ore producer’s load-out facility in the Pilbara of Western Australia, beginning in mid-2019. A standard wear liner and a graphene-enhanced ArmourGRAPH wear liner ran simultaneously in the same location for the 62-week period.
In addition, First Graphene has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Brazil’s largest steel producer, Gerdau. The MOU is currently non-binding, and allows for the two companies to negotiate terms towards a binding agreement, which would establish an initial commercial agreement for distribution and collaboration.
AGM's customer Infinity Wax launches second graphene-enhanced product
Applied Graphene Materials has announced that its customer, Infinity Wax, a major manufacturer of car care products in Europe, has launched a second car care product enhanced with the Company's graphene technology. Using AGM's Genable graphene nanoplatelet dispersions, Infinity Wax has launched Graphene Wax, a new generation of high performance car wax.
A few months ago, in September 2020, the same companies joined to launch a graphene-enhanced car polish. Now, Infinity Wax reported that it launched the new Graphene Wax following the success of its graphene-enhanced car polish. The new product offers outstanding water beading and sheeting properties as a result of increased hydrophobicity, resulting in long term paint protection. Graphene Wax makes it easy to wipe away dirt, enabling car owners to achieve a professional wax shine.
Graphene-enhanced G1 Wonder mask - hands on review
India-based Nanomatrix Materials (NM Materials) produces graphene-oxide materials and derivatives (such as r-GO) at its 20Kg/month GO plant, and the company recently launched its own brand of graphene-enhanced face mask, the G1 Wonder mask.
A few weeks ago, NM Materials sent us a couple of masks for a review here at Graphene-Info, and this short review will summarize our findings.
LiGC's laser-induced graphene filter based virus filter is now available for pre-order
Israel-based laser-induced graphene developer LIGC Application announced that its ViralWall air-purifier is now available for pre-order. The ViralWall costs $279, and will ship in April.
Using a graphene-based filter, the ViralWall "cleans the air from airborne bacteria and viruses and creates an invisible 1.2x1.6 meter air screen between people to prevent the spread of harmful airborne particles".
Zen Graphene Solutions and TreborRx announce nitrile glove agreement
Zen Graphene Solutions has announced an agreement reached on January 16th with TreborRx (Trebor) for application of its graphene-based coating on nitrile gloves sourced or produced by Trebor.
ZEN will provide Trebor with a distribution agreement for Canada, the USA and Mexico. Trebor agrees to use the coating on all gloves sold and will pay ZEN a royalty per glove coated, with a minimum first year guarantee of 100 million gloves.
Gigabyte uses graphene to extend the lifetime of graphic card fans and minimize noise
Gigabyte announced its latest gaming graphic card, the Radeon RX 6800 GAMING OC 16G. The new device uses a graphene-enhanced lubricant for its fan.
Gigabyte says that its "Graphene nano lubricant" extends the lifetime of the fan by 2.1 times, almost like a double ball bearing design - and it also makes the fab quieter compared to the company's previous design.
STEK Automotive launches graphene-enhanced window films
STEK Automotive, a U.S-based film technology developer, has launched a premium nano-ceramic window film, NEX, that contains graphene as well as tungsten and antimony tin oxide.
The graphene-enhanced nano-ceramic window films are said to provide crystal clarity as well as UV and glare reduction, and is said to effectively prevent heat from reaching vehicle interiors. Its metal-free structure also reportedly guarantees signal freedom, ensuring the continuous connectivity of all electronic devices. By blocking up to 95% of visible interior light, NEX additionally offers exceptional passenger privacy, while its 92% sun glare reduction rate dramatically reduces eye strain. With a 98% IR rejection rate, NEX's steady regulation of UV transmittance keeps windows cool, significantly reducing the level and intensity of deterioration.
Applied Graphene Materials customer Halo Autocare launches second graphene-enhanced car polishing wax product
Applied Graphene Materials has announced that its customer, Halo Autocare, a leading innovator in car care products, has launched Graphene Alloy Wheel Wax as part of its EZ Car Care range of products. This is the second graphene-enhanced wax polish product launched by Halo Autocare as part of its Graphene Innovation Programme, which uses AGM’s Genable® graphene dispersion technology.
The microcrystalline wax-based polish is said to be the result of the continued partnership and a rigorous testing programme delivered by Halo Autocare. This has produced a new product that delivers extended performance benefits, including improved thermal and chemical resistance to enhance coating durability further for demanding wheel and exhaust applications. The temperature resistance made possible through the new graphene nanoplatelet formulation helps with durability when alloy wheels heat up from consistent brake use. Combining these attributes with excellent barrier performance means that water spotting is also less likely to occur.
MSI is now shipping its graphene-enhanced backplate RTX 3000 graphic cards
Last month MSI revealed that it is utilizing graphene composites in its RTX 3000 series GPUs. The new graphic cards are now shipping globally (the cost in the US is $1,699).
MSI uses a graphene composite material as the backplate of the GPU, which is traditionally made of plastic. MSI says that the graphene composite is 4X stronger than its previous plastic backplate, and offers much higher (20X) heat dissipation performance.
